USA Daily held a presidential election poll, for fun. Mick Huckabee spammers snagged their candidate the #2 spot despite lack of fundraising or much visible grassroots activity. Concerted effort to dethrone Paul aside, the Hucksters came up way short as top-tier candidate Ron Paul ran away with the victory.

North Dakota Republican Party holds straw poll, hides results

The North Dakota Republican party held its first straw poll. It didn't go very well. Mick Huckabee and Ron Paul each got about 4% of the vote, maybe. Party officials would not say how many people participated nor how many votes each candidate received so the results Minot be accurate. (Smoke Cocktail)

Ron Paul closes in on $2 million for October, gains crucial ground for Christian vote

The Ron Paul campaign for President of the United States is closing in on the $2 million mark for October donations. Impressive. Ron Paul also placed very well at the recent Value Voters event, garnering about 15% of the vote. That placed him well ahead of Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani(less than 2%) among an important sect of voters.

I am not sure why Mr. Kistler's letter was published, especially as he called Dr. Paul, the OB-GYN from Lake Jackson, Texas, a "quack" -- other than to expose the fact that some of Paul's critics are mean, uneducated and irrational.

Good news for Ron Paul, 65% of Conservative Republicans have no problem voting for someone over 70. Even better news is that of non-Christian religions the number rises to 70%. 64% of men ages 18-49 would have no problem voting for Ron Paul due to his age.

The Ron Paul comment I made was simple and sweet and every single person except the Ron Paul supporter all said "perfect" with regards to that remark.

Bill introduced by Ron Paul to Repeal Federal Reserve Act hits 3500 Diggs

Awhile back Ron Paul introduced H.R. 2755 - To abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks, to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, and for other purposes. A link to the bill was submitted to Digg and now it has 3,500 votes. Nice!

If the 2008 presidential election was held tomorrow, who would you vote for?


Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Tom Tancredo, Fred Thompson? Maybe you would vote for a Democrat perhaps? Or write in your own candidate?


Maybe you haven't made a decision. After all, the election is still a little more than a year away.
But for thousands of voters in Florida, the answer is. ? Well, there is not one clear winner, but if you took a close listen to some of the people outside the GOP debate Sunday night, you might say Giuliani, but then again you could say Ron Paul.


So, if the election was held tomorrow, who would you vote for?

The presidential candidates have spoken and so has the public. The final results are in and polls show that Ron Paul easily defeated the lesser Republican opponents in the Fox News debates Sunday night. This marks yet another victory for the Ron Paul for President campaign as the odds were stacked against him tonight. Online supporters for other candidates were encouraging their followers to spam the Fox poll but none could pull of an upset.


Ron Paul raised more donations on Saturday than Mick Hukabee has raised in all of October.

MWC- Why is it that politicians appear to be closely aligned as to American foreign policy and you never hear those two key words: hegemony and imperialism?


DE- Now what you do not find among leading politicians or you rarely find among them, is an actual anti-imperialism, somebody who is really prepared to oppose American hegemony and empire. I think there are a few politicians like that running for the presidency, specifically Representative Dennis Kucinich, former Senator Mike Gravel and Representative Ron Paul (a Libertarian Republican). These candidates are actually anti-imperialist in their outlook, but they are very isolated, and little-known among the public. They're dismissed by the media, both because of their views and partly, no doubt, because they're seen as incapable of getting the kind of funding that would make them serious candidates, and that's true.


I think if the American public were ever to be given the alternative by a major candidate of non-imperial policy, we really might have a very sizeable number of people who would endorse that. By sizable I don't necessarily mean the majority, but a very large number, maybe 30 to 40 percent of the people, would go for that, conceivably even higher.


But they are not going to be offered that choice by our political process because the people who largely finance these campaigns, corporations and the rich, are benefiting from the imperial policy and they are not at all interested in pushing the views of someone like Gravel, Paul or Kucinich, who have an alternative point of view.

Head of Flinders University’s Department of American Studies Don De Bats told NEWS.com.au that it “sounded like” an astroturfing campaign.


Astroturfing is the term used to describe a fake grassroots campaign, where members of an organisation create the illusion that “ordinary people” are behind the movement.


Professor De Bats said that for a relatively unknown candidate like Dr Paul to have so much prominence online was suspicious.
